Rollway Covers are used when space is limited & other types of way covers are not suitable for the protection of the machine ways & screws against damage from hot chips cutting oils, lubricants & abrasive particles Construction consists of high tensile synthetic fabric or spring steel shade mounted on spring loaded roller take-up mechanism housed within steel canister. A brush wiper on the canister cleans the shade as it retracts and prevents foreign matter from damaging the take-up hardware.

Telescopic Steel Covers

Custom steel way covers are made up of Mild Steel or Stainless Steel from 1 to 3mm

Brass guides are used for larger covers. Medium and small covers are supported with non metallic low friction guides.

Depending on speed and size of application can be used for smooth operation

Damping bumpers are used based on machine speed.

Lifting lugs are provided for ease of installation.

Polyurethane Way wipers, guides, rollers and damping elements are interchangeable.

Assembly and maintenance of Telescopic covers

Orion Telescopic Covers are coated with special oil protecting them against rust and packed with plastic wrapper. It prevents corrosion during transport and storage.

We recommend the outer surfaces of Telescopic covers are oiled prior or immediate after installation

Way Extension brackets should be provided where ever required.

Steel Way Covers should be fixed on machine at compressed condition, Small box should be fastened first and largest box on last.

Mounting surface should be perpendicular to direction of cover travel.

Telescopic covers are not designed to walk on.

Covers should be cleaned periodically and oil should be applied on outer surface to prevent excess wear and corrosion. Do not use air hoses to clean covers, it result in dirt entering inside the cover.

Wipers and guide shoes gets wear it should be replaced periodically.

Identification tag should be provided while sending samples for new cover manufacturing.

While disassembling covers larges box fasteners should be removed first.

Covers should be removed and lifted form machine at compressed position.

Telescopic covers protect guiding  & ball screw systems from chips, dust & liquid. We recommend to do telescopic cover service once in every six months. Orion service Engineers replaces eN wipers & C2 wiper lips, Worn-out cover guides , worn-out  tracks made up of steel &  brass, sliding elements, dampers, plastic rollers, bearing elements, deformed scissor flats, worm out scissor pins malfunctioning travel mechanism & connection brackets. Covers are cleaned straightened to move parallel with respect to axis guides. Covers are mounted with water sealant glue.

Orion bellow covers are designed to protect guide-ways and machine components. It is constructed using lightweight water proof material. Bellow covers are ideal for fast travel applications. Their high compression ratio makes it is ideal for limited space application.
